i've been there many times in the pouring rain - generally i hate that kind of weather but for Whitby i will certainly make an exception.
Just back from a week in Whitby and the weather was on the whole brilliant! Had planned to walk around the Hole of Horcum on the way there but sat in the car eating lunch while it absolutely pee'd it down! Wondered for a while what we were letting ourselves in for! It also rained on the Wednesday morning but for the rest of the week it was briliant and never cold!
We did 3 serious walks along the coastline and one that started from Grosmont and took in the Malyan Spout and Goathland. It was mostly sunny, we caught the sun and got very hot at times but we were also very happy!
Can there be many better situations than basking in the sunshine in a pub garden, drinking Black Sheep at the top of the cliff overlooking Runswick Bay?
