WRONG - it is merely an effective way of emphasising certain words through typing in the way that one can so easily do in SPOKEN conversation.

Italics are an equally effective alternative, within reason.

Typing in capitals is actually viewed as "shouting"

e-botti,

Note the random nonsensical bollocks spoken by those with Chesterfield connections.

Prosecution rests.

If you want to fit in i suggest you practice speaking with a slack jawed drawl and don't wash for at least 3 months before visiting.

The scenic town centre is best viewed when it's dark.

This from the man with Doncaster connections...

Defence rests.

the most important thing it's the distance from London...eheh...and from Sheffield..

Indeed it is! I live in the Dales and Chesterfield is well positioned if you like hiking and many other outdoor activites. There are some good pubs scattered around, serving fine ale and excellent food.

The redevelopment that has been carried out in Chesterfield town centre in recent years has improved it no end. We use it as our main shopping centre. Stuff we cannot buy from here, we can usually get over the web. There are plenty of recreational options available around the town, some excellent pubs, restaurants etc...

Cheers, Steve.

Once when driving past chesterfield we tried to quieten a screaming daughter by saying - "look, look there's the wonky church".

she misheard, so now every time we drive near there she insists that we should go to the "monkey church".

Can you imagine how much fun a monkey church would be? That'd get the bums back on the pews. Are you listening Rowan?

Chesterfield is a very violent place at night. Every Friday & Saturday scores of mutants descend from the blighted former mining villages that surround it, Clay Cross, Staveley, Bolsover etc, get pissed & attempt to kill each other & any other poor fucker who gets in the way.

Its OK to work there, as I did many moons ago, but it is a dead easy commute from Sheffield, and this fine city is an infinitely superior place to inhabit.

to be fair there are certain parts of sheffield which are exactly the same on a friday/saturday night - namely west street, for one example. Tis the same most places nowadays.
