You obviously aren't THAT old Steve .... your early photo isn't in black and white! ......... unlike some of us, of course!

It was taken in 1962 or early 1963. I remember my mum and dad used to have a photographer come to the house every year or so and take pictures of me and my brother. It was originally shot in black and white, then hand coloured.

My dad trashed many of the family photos when he split with my mum, but this was one of the survivors. The colour had faded a lot, and it suffered water damage. It was an interesting project restoring it.

Cheers, Steve.

This is one of my favorite photographs from a personal a point of view. Four generations of my family. Me being the baby in 1965..

I dunno, I get such a sense of history and time from this photograph. My Great Grandmothers Dad had a saddlers shop in town which opened in 1810 and was going until 1963. So long ago.

From a personal point of view though it's amusing to see my Grandad and my Dad in some sharp 60's siuts..well sharp where i'm from..

What was it like living in the fancy dress shop at the bottom of Mr Benn's road?

Is this your uncle?.......
