I've got good memories of Carlisle. I worked there for a couple of months ten years ago this autumn, staying at the Crown Hotel in a village called Wetheral just south of the city.

I took a few afternoon walks along the River Eden and the autumn colours in the trees were beautiful.

Carol Smillie from the hit TV show Wheel of Fortune stayed at the hotel one night. She was filming in the area.

She was giving me the glad eye in the bar over a pint of Jennings. I defo think she was gagging for it, although I thought that about Carol Vorderman too. Yes, she had a naughty twinkle in her eye that girl! Must be something to do with Carols.

No 'happy ending' as they've just said on Scrubs though.
