I work most weekends so it was a pleasure to get away for a couple of days to the seaside with the kids and the dog. We rented a tiny cottage with walls about two feet thick. Sooo quiet (apart from the kids and the dog that is....)I love the coast at this time of the year, the end of the season feel is really atmospheric and there are far less people on the beaches. It's cold, but not really cold, which makes a brisk walk and a nice brew at a deserted caff really nice. Small pleasures, eh?

Beautiful pictures which put over the atmosphere you've described, perfectly.

I need to go and put the kettle on.

Hello...and thanks for sharing your beautiful photographs.....

I really like seascapes in black and white,do you know the work of Charles Roff ?

I'm down in Cornwall not far from Lands end.......today my son and I were down on Porthcurno beach..........hardly anybody about,.....bit fresh and our noses were running as we ate our pasties....................it was pretty much perfect.

I imagine it helped soften up those dried up crusty ends.

We went to Weymouth in September after most of the crowds, but still warm enough for the beach on a couple of days. Really nice, not-too-modern seaside town.

Still I'll be bolloxed if I'm posting any of my amateur hour photos after those beauties.

Oh well maybe one that pretty much sums up our holiday

That is a delightful photo spt. :)

The Weymouth photos are breathtaking. I think a visit to the South coast would be nice next year.
