enjoyed a weekend in Newcastle last year, nice people, very hammered, I can only remember one pub there , The Red House ??? stayed in the Copthorne Hotel though which was basically a big corporate fawlty towers though. Top weekend though.

There's a nice pub down by the river somewhere - very old inside with lots of original fittings - its gorgeous! Don't know the name though..............

I might have to take you up on that maggie. yeah The Copthorne, posh prices but thats about as far as it went. The Red House is cool, nice staff too. there was also a kick arse Chinese restaurant about 10 doors up the hill from it which was savage.

Ship is good and there's a canny green outside for a sunny day, take a wee walk along the Ouseburn to the Free Trade, classy boozer and an ace jukebox - remember going in there with me brother after registering me Dad's death and Nancy Whiskey was singing Freight Train....classy as I sayImage
