Sounds lovely, you enjoy it. We, as ever, have completely changed our minds and in a fit of peak yesterday, have decided we're off to France instead. Much jubilation among small boys in our house as we have no idea where we're going, we're just going to see where the wind takes us.

Hope you all have a fab time - wherever you're heading....
I have a vague plan of a camper van and the south island of NZ once the house is sold and the container is packed and shipped off north with all my stuff.
Reckon I should while I'm still this side of the globe. Just hope the funds hold out....
Happy holidays everyone ... may all your dreams come true xxx

Oh, Caroline do it! If it was here, you could borrow mine! Always wanted one since I was a kid and my partner finally gave in about four years ago – not a bad deal to avert an impending mid-life crisis. My dad borrowed one from friends when we were kids and we did the Welsh coast in it. I remember being so little that I slept on the back window ledge. Something quite magical for kids I think to wake up with the sea ten feet away, or in a spectacular place that you can't buy the view. Think it's helped mine to be the kind of people they are, appreciating nature and loving to be outside, rather than in front of an X-Box. And NZ's a great place to appreciate both of those things. And apparently, it's a lot more like here than Oz – Coronation Street on the telly and chip shops!

And very glad to see you're coming home, not because I am happy things haven't worked out but I'm pleased that you won't be homesick anymore. Britain is a great country and that's the proper truth. You don't realise that til you travel – the world is a wide and beautiful place, with many great cultures and experiences. But I think the world is truly here too and there are few countries that welcome that in the same way.

If you pass through Londres chick, I'll take you for gin. Gin and camper vans. What more could a woman want.

Big hugs and good luck with everything. xxxxx

Just back from a lovely holiday in France. Parking the camper on the beach for two weeks, swimming in the sea, eating cheese and drinking wine. Also, had a bit of a musical break – saw Earth, Wind and Fire on the beach in France, just my bucket of fish, and the last weekend at the End of the Road festival, which was brilliant. Richard did a DJ set in the woods but I had too much gin to remember all of it and I saw a couple of great bands, St Paul and the Broken Bones and Benjamin Clemantine, who I would really recommend. Feeling very rested and happy and totally unready for school and work. Roll on the next one. xxxxx

Our holiday to Venice last October was cancelled as beloved was laid up at death's door in hospital - but hurrah! He's now fit and well and we've just booked a week in Barcelona in November, can't wait.
