Right where can I go for a grand?

How about Gambia? - just got back from a week out there and it was something else - great weather (30-35C) nice people, good grub and superb local beer (Julbrew). Cost about £600 B&B in a nice hotel with monkeys and vultures wondering the grounds. £400 spending money and you will live like a king and be able to donate a load to a local school :*:

I just want to retire, but I need a small lottery win to pay off the mortgage and debts earlier.

That looks beautiful Pops. Can I come?

I have just booked Easter in Aberdovey... looks beautiful. Bit of a Welsh-o-phile but I've never been to that bit. Any tips for the top gratefully received. x

Sadly we are not staying in the Castle or Bamburgh - but the more 'cost conscious' village of Beadnell a few miles down the coast.

You can see the roof of our holiday flat from here! - just 100 yds from the beach

Samantha, Holly and Ben say you can come - as long as I stay at home

Did you go on the bonkers 'Sound of Music' coach tour where they drive you round all the locations and play the soundtrack incessantly at full volume? Our guide wore lederhosen and yodelled at every opportunity.
Most bizarre.
I think I'll do the Mozart one next time...

Errrrrrrr........NO! Although, Mrs Egg did point out several key :? landmarks!!

Lovely place though and an ideal time to go, no crowds, no queues, take your pick of the fantastic
bars and restaurants. Salzburg itself was dry and unseasonably mild for Feb, but looked a picture
with snow on the mountains.

It's not that big and it's really easy to walk everywhere.

Only regret was timing....dropped a bollock going last week....Anna Calvi is there at the end of Feb!

Flying out to Milan this afternoon and driving onwards to Como to stay with friends for the weekend. Looking forward to it as I've never been to either places and going to the Milan vs Juventus game on Sunday night which I'm super excited about in itself.... :Hoorah

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

My very beautiful dad will be 80 this year and we are looking for somewhere to celebrate as a family. There are masses of us so size is important – any suggestions most welcome.

Anyway, on my internet travels to find such a place, I have come across a couple of truly wonderful websites with brilliant places. Just don't tell everyone...

http://www.oneoffplaces.co.uk

www.scampervanhire.co.uk

That's me sorted, possibly for ever. x

Just back from a week in the most beautiful place, Aberdovey in Wales. Old fashioned seaside village, at the bottom of Snowdonia, would thoroughly recommend it for those in love with the sea.

Next village along had an independent cinema too, which is worth a look and a visit if you're down that way.

Think they're probably struggling Pops. I went to see Captain America with the boys and my eldest said it was the best pictures he'd ever been to. Corporate multi-plexus somehow take the magic out of watching a film. Grand theatres used to make you feel a bit like a film star yourself. Xx
