I've been a fan of Nick Drake's music for many years, Tom. 'Five leaves left' is one of my favourites.

Nick Drake was one of those stars who did not live to achieve the success he should have. But the legacy of music he left us with is so good.

I was just going to say something like "Bloody hell, which cave have you been living in for the last 20-odd years since the cult of Nick Drake started growing in earnest??"

Then i thought...."You lucky bugger! How great it would be to be discovering Nick's music for the first time"

So, listen to everything he ever recorded - there's not a lot, sadly, but there's beautiful and haunting stuff in there

Would be great to be listening to these tracks again for the first time - Nick Drake stands alone - as he often did when he was alive (coupla decent reads out there too.) Vaguely remember Richard being a bit indifferent about him.

Wonderful musician, tragic life. My favourite has long been "River Man".

Very autumnal - you've discovered his music at the right time of year :)

Extremely unusual vocal phrasing and 5/4 guitar rhythm on that track, haunting and melancholic which goes for all his catalogue.

I see there are a few Nick Drake fans on here already! I've been a fan of his for many years and own every album and compilation thats been released.Such a shame that most people have only heard of Nick and his music after his death (myself included).
