My employers Cherry Red have released a Vincent CD, The Challenge Sessions 66-68. Some good material.

Nice package as well, Gene's suffered with throwaway sleeves and liner notes and most of these have been compiled in cheap and nasty ways, usually with a picture of Gene c 1957 for songs recorded as many as ten years later.

There are some great performances and his later material, which is quite different to the original Blue Caps era records, is much much better than lazy critics would have you believe. Best to use your own ears.

I've always thought Bird Doggin' was a real garage record and Born To Be A Rolling Stone is a close cousin of the Byrds repertoire so it's interesting to see the comparison with Gene Clark and The Gosdin Brothers in the write up.

its worth it for Hi'lili Hi Lo,bird doggin and Love is a bird they are superb tracks
