They were on the Jools Holland show that Paul weller was on and I quite liked the sounds, and I swear I had no idea that the guitarist is the son of one of my colleagues. A bit Joy Division, a bit one or two other groups but they got favourable mentions in the monthly magazines in, I think, the April issues.

They are at the Leadmill September 26th.

I bought "Unfinished Business EP" and I really liked it.

At the Leadmill 26 September 2008 (and they will be supporting Glasvegas on their tour later this year)

Well, album straight to number 1. Didn't expect that.

I still can't make my mind up about this group, there's the tracks that grabbed my attention on Jools Holland, plus a couple of others of a similar sound, then I'm not so sure.

But they've had the big record company push and the BBC made them their runner up for the big thing of 2009.

I've listened to the whole album and I think I may be with Dawoodcock's ambivalence here, but maybe not.

It's kind of sub-Killers, isn't it. And the pre-publicity has been huge - lots of reviewers saying band of the year. Maybe it's the conspiracy theorist deep in my black soul, but who're they related to?

The lyric writer/guitarist is the son of someone I work with, not aware of any other relation. They used to be called Fear of Flying.

They've been in the news since around March last year. Debut gig was in February that year in front of A&R men. The music magazines were, in the main, pushing them from May onwards.

Wasn't being quite that cynical, about relatives. Just thought the pre-publicity was so massive it caught my imagination in a bad way. Fear of Flying I've heard of and will now check out, but still think sub-killers. And, Dawoodcock, you know too much.
