Domino is proud to announce the release of the debut single by The Last Shadow Puppets, entitled 'The Age Of The Understatement', on Monday the 14th of April 2008. The album, of the same name, will follow a week later on the 21st of April. 'The Age Of The Understatement' is a wide-screen, bold and brilliant introduction to the band. The Last Shadow Puppets are Alex Turner (from Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane (from The Rascals). Firm friends ever since Arctic Monkeys toured with Kane's previous group, The Little Flames, the pair were so inspired by listening to the likes of Scott Walker, early Bowie and David Axelrod, that they hatched a plan. The result is 'The Age Of The Understatement'. The single features exclusive b-sides, including the band's 'Two Hearts In Two Weeks' and interpretations of David Bowie's 'In The Heat Of The Morning' and Billy Fury's 'Wondrous Place'. 'The Age Of The Understatement' will be available on CD (RUG288CD), 2 x 7's (RUG288 & 228X) and via digital download (RUG288D). The digital single will be available from the 7th of April. |

I really like this tune, heard it on 6Music this morning, not really into the arctic's or rascals but this is a cracking song. Sounds a bit like 'Johnny Remember Me' by ... i don't know, anyway 10/10. |

All the b-sides are now on iTunes. Sadly those links will no longer work as Domino records claimed the copyright and got them removed from You Tube. |

I heard one of the songs on the radio and it reminded me of 'We came through' by S.Walker - quite interesting .They are on the telly 12.40 Ch4 Wednesday night (really Thursday). |

Spot on! that's exactly what I thought when I heard it for the first time. It's the galloping of the drums that does it. Meek Lives on that's for sure. |
