Well said, H. Righteous rant.

I am an in-er, not because it allows our economy to effectively compete or any of the pro-capitalist blah, but because of all you said. Would you trust Boris the twat and that bastard IDS with anything? Could you get two more loathsome, detestable human beings? And the idea that the country would be run by people like that – because that's what Brexit would do, hand power to them and the xenophobes and Little Englander twats – is just unacceptable. And it's not scaremongering to say that either – whatever criticisms I have of the EU (let's face it, it's not a workers' co-op), pale into insignificance when faced with the horror of what these people would do to if they held the reigns of power. IDS pioneered the whole idea of forcing disabled people into work or cut their benefits, despite how he's tried to reinvent himself in the light of the referendum. Does he think we're all completely stupid? They are even holding up Australia as pioneers of fair immigration? Are they having a laugh?

My children, 16 and 11, and all their friends, think anyone who wants out is bonkers, a swivel-eyed loon who doesn't realise we are all children of one earth who have more in common with each other than we have differences. Hippy idealism and the optimism of youth it may be, but I think the young, on the whole, have made up their minds and I'm with them. It's their world, not mine, and I'll put my cross with hippy optimism over far-right reaction any day.

As for Frankie Boyle, I would have his babies if I didn't already have some and shriveled ovaries. And nice to see you fuckers ranting about something... thought you were all DEAD! xxxx

Dead? Nah, just in training. The whole fuckin thing isbjust an internal row in the Tory party paid for by the public. They're ripping each other to shreds, settling old scores from Eton days and generally talking about the rest of Europe in terms which deserve a punch on the nose at the very least

You are right but I note they are now using it as a stick to beat Corbyn with... that he hasn't campaigned strongly enough about it because, secretly, he's for leaving not staying. They are throwing everything they can at him, both the Tories and their Etonian elite and right-wing career politicians in Labour itself. The Corbyn project can't be allowed to succeed at any cost because it could mean the end for the both of them.

Thought Owen Jones was great on Question Time too. My 16 year old watched it with me and really liked him.

It's interesting times and I think the crux of the matter is, factually, you can't say what will or will not happen if you stay in or out, or argue over facts and figures. And in or out, we will still be living in a global capitalist economy.

It's more a question of ideals and how you want to position yourself in the world and there is nothing wrong with being idealistic when it comes to politics. Idealism is what gave birth to all that is progressive in the world and, with the generation of careerists, the lack of it is what has poisoned politics in this country.

A friend on Facebook just shared this link of Euromyths which seems to be a legitimate site. Things the British media have put out . . .

Lots of really good stuff in this thread. Well thought through and principled. I don't want to dumb it all down, but I look at and listen to the baffoon that is Boris Johnson and the strange over grown school boy that is Michael Gove and that's pretty much all I need - a definite 'in' for me. I'm a Yorkshire lass, I'm English (come on England!!) and I'm European. None of those are compromised by being in the European Union - they are strengthened. And I am a member of the human race - and we are better pulling together than pulling apart.

Gove will leave parliament if Leave loses. Come on people, you know what to do...

And my son is volunteering to give out leaflets for Labour tomorrow. Nothing to do with me, he's just on one...

Today's the day for joining in with the Tory party wrangle. If we do leave Europe we will have enormous riches, a next day NHS and a mansion for everyone..oh yes, never another foreigner in my eyeline and the constant parties I will be attending to listen to patriotic songs about hating the rest of the world... warm beer for all and tweed armpits you vould wish for...

Vote cast. In.

It's a sorry state when siding with Cameron and Osborne is the only option. But the Alternative of BJ, Gove, Farage is just unthinkable.

I'd like for personalities not to be a part in this, but the above just lend credence to the fact that I can see not one valid argument to vote leave.

I'll be glad when this is over. The manipulation and lies spread over this whole affair has just been vile and shocking. The leave campaign has manipulated the horrific groundswell of far right opinion that was so poisonous in the last election, and tried to give it a new more acceptable face in the referendum. a victory for leave is an unthinkable step to the far right, from which we will will not recover for generations.

Voting remain will not solve any problems immediately, and the Brexiteers will now continuously spout their rhetoric 'told you we should've left' over every issue we face for eternity. We vote remain and try to fix this crumbling house we live in, rather than demolishing it and moving into the shed.

Vote in, then vote the fuckers out.

Just about captures the lot Widnesboy. The Gove/ Johnson axis is full of self entitlement. They think the result of this either way gives them the right to govern. Maybe this will be the new Whigs and Tories ( heaven hrlp us). If it was voting out to estabish a socialist republic I'd carry the flag, that's not on offer so I am voting remain in this rain sodden centre of Brexiteers
