Has anyone else seen this? Absolutely brilliant film - not the easiest watch but very powerful and moving. Peter Mullan is such a good actor - I remember him playing the alcoholic Joe in 'My name is Joe'. Paddy Considine is the director - he played Rob Gretton in 24 hour party people and was in a couple of Shane Meadows' films.

Think the film is up for a BAFTA tonight - would be well deserved if it wins. Definitely recommend it.

You don't actually see it at all, Maggie. It's awful but don't let it put you off seeing the film.

Really pleased that they won the British debut award at the BAFTAs last night.

I really want to see this but the wifey won't watch it. Looks like its one of those movies to watch when I have the house to myself.

Sean and I went to see it ... yes, it's very hard to watch, particularly the scenes with the abusive husband, but it's a great film.

Tyrannosaur is a powerful film, and a stunning accomplishment for Paddy Considine. I read about this film months back, when it first hit the film festival circuit. I finally watched the DVD and was transfixed. The cast is superb, especially Peter Mullen. The cinematography of Erik Wilson is first-rate.

It brought to mind Nil by Mouth and Ladybird Ladybird. I noticed that Gary Oldman was thanked in the credits and wondered if he'd offered advice & inspiration. Ladybird was my introduction to the very talented Ray Winstone, who was brilliant in another disturbing film directed by an actor (Tim Roth), The War Zone.

The works of Mike Leigh and Ken Loach share similarities with Paddy Considine's riveting film.

Highly recommended.
