Just ordered it off Amazon. Cheers for that - it's got brilliant reviews.

Any book that starts -

"Halley's Comet burned across the Mississippi night sky like a brakeman's lantern during June 1910, leading to suicides and whispers of Armageddon..."

-is alright by me :)

I know! That really grabbed me when i first started reading it funnily enough. :)
Its unbelievable the shit that this man went through in his life, and also unbelievable the musicians he met and played with along the way! It just blows your mind.Truly a fantastic biog and im only halfway through it.

I'm really enjoying this book. Things were obviously a bit different back in Wolf's day - if your band wasn't performing to your satisfaction you just threatened 'em with a gun.
Perhaps that's why Richard's band are always so good. :*:

"Wolf, in his unique way, exemplified a modern oxymoron, the avant-garde traditionalist. He took blues back to its roots in a manner which was simultaneously primitive and strikingly modern." --Mark Humphrey

A recent NPR piece is rather good and comes with video clips:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... =130276817

"Everything fight about a spoonful."
