Has anyone seen the new Going for Gold? I don't usually have the 'pleasure' of daytime TV, but spotted this today. They have about 3 or 4 'viewer questions' which John Suchet reads out 5 times. Some of today's were: 'In which country is Home and Away set? and it gives you the options - India, Norway...' and 'I am made by Heinz and Crosse and Blackwell and used on lettuce as an alternative to mayonnaise. I am salad what?' Scary television.

'Going for Gold' was compulsive viewing in our 'orrible student house in Manchester in the late 80s.

At the risk of appearing like a couch potato, yes I saw the 21st century reincarnation the other day. Only a few minutes.

The sound of the buzzer has been preserved. It took me back to smoking long pipes of blow, drinking Rapier lager and listening to Simply Red LPs.
