I must admit when I saw him on Jonathan Ross last week I thought his 'I was this close to moving back' comments were going to come back and bite him on the arse. You have every right of course to move away from your home town, city or village but if you come back with snidey comments that have a subtext of 'why would I ever want to come back here when I live in LA' or whatever you are an arrogant tossser in my book. Paul McCartney doesn't live in Liverpool but he is always very reverent towards the place and he'd never stoop as low as that.

I watched that and he did come accross as an arogant tosser in the extreme, spent the whole interview trying to get Ross onto the subject of his new record and interupted him constantly, if that wasn't enough for him to be embarrassed about have you heard the new single from his album ?

In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

the silly twat stormed off an american talk show as they cut his song short. he's suffering from 'phil collins syndrome'. cheeky chappy public persona, utter #### in real life.

Ringos comments were followed with a 'but I love the place' as I recall...

He came over as a bit of a gonk - which to me means he's like the rest of us part time tossers.

As for the constant promotion of product - well thats what TV chat shows are for - and is probably a side effect of living in the hub of modern day capitalism...

The tragedy of the music business is that you start of with ideals and integrity that are battered by corporate capitalism into a product and commodity.

Actually I like the L8 single  .

We really wouldn't expect that from, allegedly, the third best drummer in The Beatles would we?
If anyone has built a career on being in the right place at the right time!

I like the story of the comedian, can't remember who, who's no longer welcome back because of one joke:
"They named the airport after John Lennon because it was the first place he went when he had some money!"

He's just pissed off that he was only given 5 decent songs throughout the Beatles recording career - 'Boys', 'I wanna be your man', 'Honey Don't', 'with a little help from my friends' and of course the massive dreadful fuck up that was 'act naturally'.

And that most people doing an impression of him would opt for '..and Thomas rolled into the station......' :*:

People seem to enjoy slagging off Ringo for some strange reason ; perhaps to do with the fact that he never took himself seriously and because of his fun loving character .At least he was never some dull nonentity with zero personality with his head up his arse . I admired his honesty on Jonathan Ross - so what if he does not want to go back to Liverpool ! His was the drummer in the greatest band in history , you only have to listen to the drumming on 'A Day In The Life' to stop this sniping. He's still cool . 8)

I like Ringo, I'm not saying he is my favourite Beatle (I haven't made up my mind yet) but I do like some of his solo stuff. He was great as the voice of Thomas the Tank Engine.
