Well, yes but better than refusing to acknowledge any mail!

There was a time in my youth (all those years ago) where you had to send an SAE with any fan mail, but usually you got back a fan club application where you had to pay a fiver to get the standard signed photo (sometimes a copy), perhaps a badge and a pen.............

He'll soon start to miss the adulation I bet - his ego will be the size of a pea by the time the press have finished with him anyway! :*:

I suppose by making a public declaration he hopes people won't get shirty with him once he starts refusing "Well mate I did make a statement...." I can't say I blame him to a large degree, most of the autograph hunters these days are just hyenas making money off the autographs selling them on ebay and the like. Sucks for the true fans but I suppose they will have to content themselves with a moment in his exulted presence as he politely tells them to fuck off.

Agree 100% - leave the guy alone and let him play with his train set - peas and loaf to ya Ringo - now media folks lets get back to that really interesting issue that is the credit crunch

They seem more interested in Madge and Guy at the moment (yawning smilie).

I really like Ringo Star. When he was interviewed on the Jonathan Ross show...I thought he was well good. Mr Ross was very much taking the piss and I feel Ringo was well polite, but also at the same time told him how it is and would not play ball.

As for all this autograph bullshit. About fucking time. I think he's spot on. He's over 60...so why bother?

He's just another bloke around town.
