I had 2 bad experiences with IKEA flat pack gear which left deep scars - and had to queue for an hour to get the right bits for one of them. Had a settee that lasted me 11 years though and a brilliant bookcase which I wish I had another of but they don't make any more.

It's affordable and most of it's plain and simple (like me), it's just a miserable experience all round which I avoid at all costs

Aye, it takes a certain type of person to actually enjoy going there, sure enough!

Me too. Fucking hate Meadowhall with a passion. Go about once a year under extreme duress & start whingeing after half an hour.

But I love Sheffield City Centre!!! :D

I picked up me car from some miserable industrial estate near there and had the "pleasure" of Meadowhall a year and a bit ago. They're all the same really and proper city and town centre streets are always more interesting...though the shops are nearly all the same like.

I have the delights of Romford, Lakeside (hell on earth not a proper bookshop last time I looked) or Bluewater which has the bonus of being circular so I don't get lost as easy.

Still I picked up some Hank Williams and Howlin Wolf to listen to on the way back so Meadowhall spawned something worthwhile

Me. I've learnt the best times to go. I know where it's best to try and park. I know my way around. I enjoy a mooch around every now and then.

I like Meadowhall, so long as i know what i want. I hate it when i'm wandering aimlessly not knowing what to buy (e.g. when i'm looking for a present but don't know what...). But then that applies to any shopping centre...

I think IKEA is great, probably because I love interior shops and svenske köttbollar (swedish food)!

Makes me feel claustraphobic cos you can never see the way out. Love the names they give to the pieces of furniture and adore the meatballs (with lingonberries, of course) :*:
