Finally seen Question Time, upliftibg and spot on comments. Good to have such a strong audience reaction too because so much news coverage is littered with Twitter comments that sound like UKIP manifesto soundbites. When will news programmes put Twitter comment into context - most sentient beings live their lives and don't Tweet their lives so it is a minority slice of opinion which is given substance because it is passed off in established nrwd programming.

It's the audience reaction that made it for me. When the guy from the Mail said the paper was outside the political establishment, the whole room went into hysterics! Good to see that people don't believe the hype. x

no, but it's all we've got (to quote tony benn)

Are you happy to vote for the alternatives truly believing in what they say and stand for?
happy to vote and grateful to have one, but let's not be naive

100%?
see above

Are you happy to vote for the alternatives just to get these 'fuckers' out?
yes

Aren't they all as bad as each other in one way or another?
no

Can any of them be trusted to deliver what they promise?
what they promise is always moderated by what's achievable

Haven't and aren't all the conferences just a sales pitch?
no, have you ever been to one or just watched the edited highlights chosen by someone to present their perspective of what's important ?

You can put 2 + 2 together if you like but you'll be wrong!
??

we just have to do what we can, the biggest issue i think is stopping the current government turning us back over 100 years, to the world of victorian stovepipe capitalists having everything and an impoverished poorly educated proletariat scraping the bottom of their barrel.

Well said. I strongly believe that you have to go with your fundamental principles and vote for the party that you feel reflects those. Of course no party is going to be able to fully represent what you hope for but you have to choose the one that is the closest to what you believe in. I make no secret of the fact I hate what the Tory party stands for and I worry that (according to research which may be flawed of course) this generation has the least empathy of any before them. Why is that? Too much Daily Mail hate everyone but yourself propaganda? I am not saying it is the fault of any one political party but I do feel that the Tory rhetoric lacks compassion and we need to get back to values that are about working together as a society rather than stigmatising people because they are different or lacked the foundation of a stable, loving home. To me, the Tories don't represent that - and to put it bluntly - I can't stand the fuckers.
