New job tomorrow. Shit scared hence the new thread which may be deleted because it has the word shit in it. Anyway I hate change and I hope the people are nice. I haven't had to re-locate like Boltonlass so I should be braver. Sorry for being a wimp.

28th year as a teacher starts tomorrow. Still shit scared (at the amount of work, not at the pupils).

I'm kind of shit-scared. I have to meet the parents (all rich) and stand up and do a presentation on Wed. Ulp. Also, I'm teaching with no interactive whiteboard. That takes me back...

Never be scared of rich people - they are like poor people but have money

People are good or bad - the bad ones steer clear of.

Sometimes tho' it's hard to figure out who falls into which category.

Ever met someone who becomes your best-est friend and years later is top of the list of 'people I would bury under the patio'...

Good luck to you all - if things go bad faint...it works for me...

Good luck! It's normal to be scared when starting a new job (and I've had a few, so I know what I'm talking about). But things usually turn out fine, and I'm sure that'll be the case here. Tell us about it all tomorrow.

Am also shit-scared at the moment. We're in the process of buying a house out here. Been a bit browbeaten into it as I just want to go back to my house in Wales. But maybe it will make me feel more settled here. Not sure. Fed up with having to do things I don't want to do. Grump grump grump :(

Good Luck today Lou.

I think one of the biggest things with change is stepping out of your comfort zone. I did it, by choice,
5 years ago. Hated the new job for the first few months, but I can now say it's the best job I've ever
had and the comfort zone is back.

Knock 'em dead! <*>

Good luck Lou. Be brave. It will be ok. People will love you and the job will be a breeze. And you can sooo tell I've had a holiday. Will be back to being a miserable bitch before you know it. Xxxx

Thanks everyone. Got the first day over. Hadn't a clue what most people were on about but at least they seem okay. Will take a bit of getting used to though. Be a while before I am in my comfort zone I think.

Okay - thanks for asking, Maggie. One minute I think I've got it sussed the next I have no idea what the f**k is going on. Head swimming a bit tonight. Might have a glass of red wine to ease it...

In my experience it always helps Lou!
Takes time to settle in - just be yourself and you'll be fine xx

You're doing very well. It's your first week! I felt exactly like you mention in my last job, and the problem is I felt the same in my first week and after I'd been there two years. You've still got plenty of time to adjust, and you shouldn't worry about it. You can and will get along brilliantly. Did the red wine help to see things brighter?
