Most sitcoms nowadays are purile drivel, thank god that Big Top? isn't getting another series either, i'm all for getting rid of Amanda Holden off the tv altogether, dunno what John Thompson was thinking of, probably.. ££££££.

Discussing this very subject in the pub last night - basically because there was a bloke in there that was the spitting image of George from George & Mildred. :*:
One of my favourite US shows was Married... With Children (Kelly Bundy  )
That was fantastic - Peggy is my role model.

Just had to join this thread. I do the occasional shift for the BBC in Glasgow as an audience handler when they record shows like In It To Win etc. I was also unfortunate enough to have worked on several episodes on Life Of Riley. If you think it's bad when it's on telly, it's worse when it takes three hours to get through bit by bit with lots of scenes being repeated again and again.
I genuinely wondered if it was written by committee. It's banal at best and genuinely lazy at worst. I appreciate that prime time telly has to appeal to the broadest possible demographic but is this really what people want? I've not had a telly in the house for about three or four years now and LoR is just one of the reasons why.

I feel better now :D
