It's funny you should mention this, as I saw the programme for the first time tonight - thought I'd see what it was like. Absolutely dire :? How on earth does this stuff get on TV & who do they think watches it? Is it supposed to be like ''My Family''? Actually it's just like it - cringe worthy

it's had universal bad reviews. i don't understand how these things even get commisioned. they might as well just show repeats of 'terry and june' cos we don't seem to have moved on much from there.

i watched 'on the buses' recently in open mouthed astonishment. how bad was that? and how ugly were they? if you want a decent sitcom about families, try 'outnumbered'.

i'll be honest, there's very little on the tele that makes me laugh. Blackadder, that's about it.

:*: Actually, Anna Karen who played her was an extremely attractive woman who dowdied herself up (or down) for the part

I'll admit that it is extremely dated which probably puts some people off. Unlike some comedies of that era which are timeless (Steptoe and Son has that feel to me somehow, despite the fact that rag and bone men are hardly commonplace these days!)

agree with you on that one. steptoe and the likely lads were fantastic.

the likely lads is another good one.

I got the box set of the complete steptoe and son a couple of years ago at christmas and i don't think there's a single bad episode, the love/hate relationship between albert and harold is so brilliantly done, Brambell and Corbett really were top actors.
