I think most of the telly i've had the misfortune to see has been bollocks. Royle Family was piss poor, it hasn't jumped the shark it's done a complete fucking Evil Knievel job over Sea World. Think the best thing i've seen has been Top Gear!

It had some good moments amid a lot of strained dross. You must have smiled at the gag about Terry Waite and the radiator......or Jim's skiddies? :D

There were a couple of moments, but it just seemed like 95% of it could have been written by anybody who's shown little more than a passing interest in the previous series. Become a bit of a parody of itself and gone on too long.

Agreed. In fact, I remember saying to the missus at the time that it was a 'caricature of itself' whatever that means!! I don't think it will get a Christmas special slot next year. The Queen of Sheba episode from a few years ago was excellent comedy drama though.

Just watched Russell Brand on the Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2009 on Channel 4.......what a dickhead.

The final episode of Gavin & Stacey tonight was nicely done, I thought.

The winner of prize turkey TV goes to 'day of the Triffids' a bigger bag of cocksnot I've never seen. The acting was more wooden than the Mary Rose and Eddie Izzard looked like he thought he'd bagged the part of the baddie in the next Bond movie and wandered onto the wrong set.

Shyte.

i think all the channels not only gave up but didn't even bother trying in the first place. i quite enjoyed the royle family and thought the fattest man in britian was pretty good but everything else was bab.

and don't get me started on the amount of repeats.......................

Saw most of it. Terrible. Kudos for Joely Richardson in boots and various checked shirts though.

I though I was the only sad, miserable bastard sitting home.

Anyway...

HAPPY NEW YEAR  :Hoorah

On the 'Volkszone', a forum I use for rusty old VW's, they have a thread where the first person to post on it after 12:00 on NYE gets the title 'Saddest Volkszone User of the Year' under their avatar!
I won it in 2006, not been able to manage it since... :(

There was a few TV highlights but most of it was crap. Everything seemed to be repeated over the holiday period. Even Jools didnt seem that good this year.

Top Gear - in South America with 4 x 4's - now that was good
Catherine Tates - Nan's Christmas Carol - fucking liberty
My Family special - where they were in 2030

Agreed - some of the performances on Jools were rather wobbly and could have done with some re-takes - Paolo Nutini's dodgy Jamaican patois singing aside - Tom Jones/Kelly Jones/Boy George/Rico Rodriguez spring to mind....and I loathe Paloma Faith - another of the London mafia who seem to get priority when it comes to getting slots on Jools. Don't they ever look outside the M25? Did someone say "payola"?

TV has been shite this Xmas, all i've been watching is programs about nazis and diy.

Now if someone could make a program about the SS doing loft conversions i wouldn't even have to change the channel over. :wink

In the middle of the night, when the BBC goes over to the 24 hour news channel, I've seen some really interesting items. An interview with a truly remarkable WW2 veteran, Fergus Anckorn. And the World Land Speed Record attempt by a steam powered car. Why don't they show this stuff during the day?...Ok, they probably do - being a 24 hour show  I'll go back to sleep shall I? :*:
