Well then people, its been a while since I paid a visit and I'm back posting in this section. Had a torrid 3 months with the black dog like nothing I've ever had before. During which me and Sophie split up which spiralled me down to a point that I never want to go to again....difficult to say, but yes, I attempted suicide. Thanks to actions of friends and family I was unsuccessful. When the dog gets you properly by the throat you see nothing but blackness, fear, no self worth, guilt, worthlessness...basically a waste of space that you feel everybody would be better off without.
I'm back at work now and getting through each day at a time. I'd like to personally thank some of the people on here for being there for me and still are. Nothing much more to say really

Shit, sorry to hear you've been having a tough time. Glad to hear things are turning round. Good luck with your gig at the Viper Room.

Oh, so sorry to hear about your shitty time Dave. Life sucks at times but I'm glad you didn't succeed in checking out. Lost my best friend last year and have had some terrible days since – I miss him so very much – but people won't be better off without you mate. They'll just be miserable, take it from me. Just keep taking one day at a time and you'll wake up one morning and it won't be so bad as the day before. Much love. xx

A brave post Dave. A big warm welcome back - I have certainly missed your wicked sense of humour on the forum. You know that when you have reached that lowest low the only way is up now - small steps and one day at a time Dave, good to have you back xx

Post subject:  We Yanks always try to cheer things up

I was thinking about your messages here. It was Christmas day, and we'd lost a family aquaintence this autumn. Then someone misunderstood a song title on knee-jerk website, so instead of crying or ranting, I took action and sent a tiny few Yank dollars I had left to the UK Samaritans. For they had an email address years ago which meant a lot to me a few years ago.

I don't get to the board as much as I like, but you can message me.

I'll try to spare the Yank cheeriness we're so good/awful at (supposedly) and just say I understand and I care.

I used the samaritans over the Christmas period. Very very good people doing a fantastic job.

I hope this doesn't sound flippant (it's not meant to) but get yourself down to Hillsborough if you can , Dave. It is actually enjoyable watching Wednesday this season. We need you on The Owls thread.

All the best - I hope you can see light at the end of the tunnel ( it is there).

Uh, wait, there's a thing I want to tell you:
I will never forget that you were the first person that greeted me with a friendly welcome, when I joined the Hawleyboard for a first session years ago. Seems little, but meant (and still means) a lot to me, because I had a difficult time then myself. So, thank you for being here (or there).
