I'm Royally fucked off. Why do i have to pay £12 customs charges when i have already forked out $17 on shipping from the US. I ordered Cardinology "special" vinyl package last month. Today i get a card saying i have to pay this. On top of that most of the vinyl that has been delivered (according to peeps on RAA) is warpped and unplayable and the t-shirts are some sort of american skinny fit.

So looks like i've spent the best part of £50 on fuck all.

I've had loads of DVD's from the USA and never had to pay customs charges - strange! Mind you they have tended to be very cheap ones so perhaps they're below the threshold or something............. :?

I hope to buy a few dresses in the new year - hope they don't attract charges.............. :?

It depends of the sellers or the price of what you buying. I often buy from the US but from ebay. Sometimes if you ask them or if they nice, they write in the customs sticker that what you buying is second hand or a present,so you don't get stung by The Royal robbers. I recently bought a trench coat from the US; the web page was cool cause they add you a little bit more to the total of your purchase and they fill in customs for you. :)

that's right louise.

It's the last time i do it.

If this shirt is too small i'm tempted to stick it on ebay to recoup the costs, would normally just keep it as it's proper Ltd but i need the £££s

Fuck it i'm keeping it.

I used to send stuff to pals living out in places like latvia, slovakia or outer mongolia (I kid you not) during the 90s ... always put 'gift' or said it cost about two pound twenty so they'd not have to pay the customs.

Sell the t shirt on ebay, at least you can recover the £12 in customs you paid, who knows you may get a little bit more. :)

The maximum price before customs charges kick in used to be £17, not sure what it is now, but I always ask the people I'm buying from to declare it as a Gift rather than merchandise, and that usually does the trick.
