Art is in the eye of the beholder.

I've always thought Damien Hurst knew exactly what he was doing and royally taking the piss with a smug grin on his face. Fair play to him in that case. I'm sure he knows it's a load of old toss.

You can believe art is in the eye of the believer all you want, but to put incomprehensible price tags on it doesn't make it better, it just make it only accessible to twats and privately funded galleries. Can we have a social conscience and pay millions of quid for a pickled shark when kids in Britain (or anywhere) are going to bed hungry at night.

No.....but that's the way it is mylifesexample. It's a shit world we live in. Hurst is an entrepeneur IMO & people will pay millions for his stuff because a lot of rich people think his art is desirable..or they're told that it is.....some people will put anything on their mantelpiece. Meanwhile, children are going to bed hungry & it is wholly wrong.

You mean Dave's lower leg from kicking that tambourine the other night? Nah, the bruising's faded now & its gone back to being a pasty grey colour again.

Breathtaking while it lasted, though.
