I intended this as a general relationship bother thread. Don't want to be a misery-hog:P

Hope you doing OK after your trip away. Was not gonna get involved with this thread cos am a right moaner wen it comes to my last relationship! However, after that one ended I walked straight into a new one and its brilliant! Absolutely really, really lovely, gentle and just flowing along.

So, it was actually a releif to leave the last one right where it belonged-in the past. You never know whats round the corner, and we learn so much from each relationship we have. :D

She's really lovely, but I'm not in love with her. It's for her own good more than mine really.

'Lover' and the 'loved' syndrome.

If your not in love - your doing the right thing.

Good luck.

Ahhh yes, but wot if falling in love doesn't happen instantly and maybe in time... and... what if love isn't the most important thing in this relationship? and... what if he thinks he's not in love with her but actually is and just hasn't realised it? and wots love anyway?

just throwing a wee spanner in the works...

Well it's done. I feel absolutely shit. Done nothing but watch daytime television since. She's heartbroken of course.

these things take time. sometimes a long time. you'll both move on, eventually. it's normal to feel bad - it wouldn't have been worth it if yer didn't.

stick with it :)

the best thing you can do Alan is go out and get drunk.

Or put 'Like a hurricane' Neil Young on repeat and get drunk...

Worked for me circa 1980 - after about three days...

The second best thing you can do is stay away and don't contact her. I hate that sh*t. Just manage to get past it and then the bastard shows up again, to make himself feel better most often -- or thinks he'll get himself laid. NOT that I'm saying you would do that... just saying DON'T do it if tempted. And if she contacts you (and isn't a stalker)... as cruel as it sounds, let her go man, and ignore it.

(As a side note, what is it with the whole, "I'll call her a year or two later just to say hi" thing? Happens to me all the time. Almost every guy I've ever dated turns up again sooner or later - usually like clock-work, 1 year later. wtf? ) :eh?

I love that too. Your mum sounds amazing... also from the other threads where you have mentioned her too. Was or is she Cornish by any chance?
