I'm thinking to get another delay pedal. I've had a Line 6 dl4 for years but I don't find it very intuitive so it doesn't get used as much as I might. I'm currently using the delay on a digitech rp355 which is ok but gets hissy if I put an overdrive after it. I need something that self oscillates on full feedback and takes an expression pedal for feedback adjustment. So far been reading up on the Boss re20; The Strymon el capistan and the memory boy deluxe but the only one in the shops around here is the boss. Any preferences or opinions?

I ordered a delay pedal online... but I'm still waiting for it to arrive! :*: :*:

I don't think the Carbon copy takes an expression pedal. I need that for my Paul Rudolph style delay, feedback type thingy. Listening to Richard on BBC 6 yesterday. I'm quite sold on his advice.

Hi there,

I've been using the Electro Harmonix Memory Boy for about two years and I love it. It has less bells and whistles than the Deluxe model but you can still do a lot with it and really go bonkers if you need to. For modulation, you can choose between triangle wave or square wave form. It has an expression pedal input that allows you either to control the speed of the delay (if you want to control the self-oscillation thing) or the depth of the modulation (for a kind of Leslie emulation type of thing). That pedal's a no-brainer really, it sounds great and it's not as expensive as its other siblings (DMM or DMB). Highly recommended.
