Got one of these today, Vox Lil' Night Train head & cab, 2 watt all valve head & vox cab with celestion 10 inch speaker. cab has treble & bass controls, vol & gain & bright switch which bypasses bass & treble controls, very very nice sound at low levels, great for recording. was really tempted to get the Vox AC4 head & cab but it sounded pretty much the same as my old harmony amp. the Lil Night Train is cheaper too, got it for £229 really chuffed with it.!

had a couple of hours blasting through the amp the other afternoon (well apart from my little lad messing about with my pedals), really impressed with the tone, and for a 2 watter its got some oomph to it, i think i might be able to get away using it for small semi-acoustic gigs. with the bright switch off it sounds delightfully vintage too.
well impressed!

Gigged the amp at the weekend, only did a little duo gig with my dad, and i took my epiphone valve jr to back the vox up, although really i didn't need to.
To say the vox is only rated 2 watts, it has some volume to it. it breaks up nicely and has a fantastic tone. a lot of reviews say it hasn't got a lot of headroom but i found that if you want that slightly overdriven tone at low-ish volumes it's fine., didn't need to be mic'd up either. obviously wouldn't be suitable for big gigs with a drummer / bassist etc but for small acoustic gigs it's ace.
Really impressed!
