reet, i've been giving the bigsby a bit of abuse lately and the big spring keeps popping out of the bottom bit of the fittings, theres a little plastic washer under the spring which i presume is there to heighten the arm.
I just wondered if there's any reason why the washer is under the spring, and not above it wher the arm fitting is...(if you know what i mean). if i put it there it would stop the spring from coming out at the bottom, but if i took it away altogether the the arm wouldn't be at the height it is now.
any hints?? soz for waflling.. i'm not very technical!

Christ - what you doing to it?! :*: You gone all Eddie Van Halen? I've never had that happen to mine.

I put bigger springs (1 inch) in the ones I've got, makes the handle sit higher & you get a bit more travel than with the smaller ones. Maybe try this?

I'd try that or try and re-tension the existing spring. Then maybe take the washer out too if the handle sits too high, at least then the spring'll have to move further to become unseated. Or summat.

Cheers, it's on the 6120 so it's got the bigger spring in anyway (ive noticed the difference between that and the ones in electromatic!), i don't really do any upward bends, it just seems to pop out every so often, i think it seems as though theres not much space in the little pocket fot the bigsby to sit in when the washer is there, so i'm gonna try putting the washer on the top of the spring and see if that helps. maybe i'm a bit too heavy handed!
Had a look on Gretsch Pages website and theres some tips on there.
Cheers!
