thought my guitar buying days were behind me when I stopped the paid gigs at Xmas - but damn and blast did I not buy another - Have always wanted a really nice acoustic and bought a Taylor 314CE electro from GuitarGuitar in Glasgow.

http://www.taylorguitars.com/Guitars/Ac ... 300/314ce/

This was the most money I have ever spent on a guitar and nervous did not cover it. Have to say it is wonderful - such a nice sound - clear bright and responsive.

I have promised my wife this is the last .............although I don't have a 12 string electric!!!!!

Are guitars just not the very best thing ever invented?

The thing with guitars is I made it to 38 years old with 4 guitars and at 41 I have 13 (unlucky number that - maybe better get a Burns double six).
But I feel like the old geezer with the sports car - cos you couldn't afford one when you were young and now you have progressed in years they become affordable.
Still I aint complaining.

Yeah make it 14 - can't be sitting on a number like that. Makes sense to me anyhow.....

Very nice guitar, Scott!
It's a great shop, the Glasgow GuitarGuitar. I was downstairs in there the other day, salivating over their expensive Gretch selection. Not literally, of course.
Guitar gathering does tend to speed up as you get older, doesn't it? I got by with four until two years ago, now at 40 I'm up to eight of them - and already plotting a new acquisition.

Ah, but you're still a young fella. There's plenty of time to go all collector-y

I'm beginning to worry that, in the absence of any interest in cars, my guitars might be the equivalent of those little penis-mobile sports cars men buy when they have a mid-life crisis. :*:

:*:

i went through a phase about between 4-5 years ago of wanting to buy lots of guitars but i just don't seem bothered anymore I had about six at one point but half of them are gone now. I'd rather just have the two that i love and can accomplish all i want to musically on them, it'd be different if i classed myself as a guitarist first and foremost, but i don't, for me the guitar is the accompaniment, the songwriting tool etc.

plus, guitars are just waaaay too expensive for me

I can't stop at guitars....here's the loft....I inherited the paint scheme. It's awful, I know, but I'd have to move the instruments out to redo it.
